Greater Bay Area forum explores opportunities for the construction industry
The Construction Industry Council (CIC) organized a forum on May 14 which explored opportunities for the local construction industry.
Speakers shared their first-hand information on the latest development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA) initiatives with a focus on the roles of Hong Kong for its unique status as international financial and arbitration centres as well as its edges on the project management and high-end techniques. Over 120 leaders, stakeholders and representatives from the construction industry participated in the discussion, exploring the potentials and opportunities for the construction industry in the GBA. Valuable opinions and recommendations on diverse development fronts of the industry were collected at the forum.
Executive Director of the CIC Albert Cheng opined that the long-term development in the GBA will create a tremendous demand for the construction related services and professionals, particularly in the training, arbitration, accreditation and project management areas. Through the Forum, he hoped to further enhance the understanding of the industry practitioners on the GBA initiatives and urge the industry to grab the opportunity to take part in the GBA development, such as infrastructure, project management as well as the electrical and mechanical related projects.
