Executive Director appointed for Third Runway
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) recently announced the appointment of Tommy Leung as Executive Director, Third Runway, effective 1 February 2022 and succeeding Kevin Poole who will retire on the same day. Mr Leung is currently Deputy Director, Third Runway Project Management. As Executive Director, he will oversee the development of the Three-runway System (3RS), including project management and project delivery. He will also supervise the Sustainability Department of AAHK.
     Mr Leung held a number of senior positions since he joined AAHK in 1994, covering terminal operations, technical services, and major development projects at HKIA. He was Chief Operating Officer of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai Airport Management Company Limited during 2006 to 2009. Mr Leung has been Deputy Director, Third Runway Project Management since 2016. Mr Leung is a member of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. He holds a Bachelor's degree of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.


98k private flats projected
The projected private flat supply for the next three to four years is 98,000 units, 4,000 more than the previous estimate. The Transport & Housing Bureau said there were 11,000 unsold units in completed projects at the end of December.
     There were 69,000 units under construction, excluding those pre-sold by developers, and 18,000 units from disposed sites where construction can start any time. The number of flats under construction in the fourth quarter was 14,100, while the number of units completed in the period was 21,300.
