Golden Inner Bay planning initiative launched

The Guangdong provincial government recently invited international consultants to submit proposals on the conceptual planning and design arrangements for the Golden Inner Bay (GIB) — a new development initiative aimed at further boosting the Greater Bay Area. The proposed GIB initiative covers an A-shaped area spanning 100 kilometres along the Pearl River Estuary.

As outlined in the consultation document released by the Department of Natural Resources of Guangdong Province on 4 September, prestigious planning and design firms, including those from overseas, are invited to submit proposals.
The widely publicized Greater Bay Area comprises nine mainland Chinese cities, Hong Kong and Macau, while the GIB focuses specifically on six cities: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhongshan.
A review committee will be formed to execute the pre-qualification procedures, with a shortlist of no more than six applicants for the project.
