February 3, 2025 Design of Hengqin Tianmu Qintai project unveiled Hengqin is hyping up its latest attraction that resembles half a pipa lying on its side, with the construction of the RMB4.9 billion (US$670 million) investment drawing to an end. The attraction sits atop the river that stretches through the neighbouring island. Official information states that the complex has an architectural area of 246,000 square metres and stands 68.3 metres tall.
Comprised of 18 floors in total, the complex accommodates offices, conference and exhibition facilities, hotel amenities, as well as leisure facilities.
Once complete, the Tianmu Qintai project will become a hub for cross-border online shopping business. This will include top online shopping sites and smart investment services. According to government information, Hengqin, also simply called the cooperation zone, saw its gross domestic product for the first three quarters of 2024 surge by 7 per cent year-on-year to nearly RMB37.35 billion.
